Guys, my computer crashed okay (a little sympathy here) so stop complaining about my ‘lack of perseverance’. I know I suck at keeping diaries/journals/records/blogs etc. but this time it’s totally not my fault!
But everything’s fixed now, goody-goody. *grins like an idiot* So I’m BAAAAAACCCCKKKK! *Muahahahahaha*
Two weeks now since the exams ended, and seriously, I have no idea how the days have passed. One after another, trudging along, melding into each other… Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, days don’t mean anything now, because they’re all the same (in a good way). To quote Shakespeare (just to show off, really):
To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day
Right-on.
I’ve been applying for a place to stay at University next year, and my choice: International House. Went for a tour of the grounds last Friday, and it seems like a brilliant place to stay. Nice rooms, friendly people (not that I can tell from a brief 15 minute walk), beautiful garden-ish thing… Not bad. Now I just hope I can get in.
It was Rokshana’s birthday Tuesday, party on Saturday. Could not for the life of me decide what kind of present to give her, so settled for a copy of ‘The Onion’ instead. Yes, yes, by all means raise your petty eyebrows, so what? I love the satirical journal and I will continue to love it. For anyone interested, it is published online on www.theonion.com Have fun reading!
But I digress.
As I was saying, Rokshana’s party. She prepared 3 different set menus + finger food, sophisticated and complicated stuff, all of them. Clam chowder was my favourite, although the…err…tuna balls thingys and mini sushi were awesome as well. Yum!!! Wish I could’ve helped around more in the kitchen though, but ah well…it’s me…what can I say.
Just took a peek in my wallet then. Stunning, the contents, absolutely spectacular. 1 dollar and 57 cents. That is ALL I have??!!! The trips to the city have really cost me… Talking about trips to the city. I was nearly about to buy (illegally) a concession card today - hello, give me a break again okay, the freakin’ full fare is $12.40 while other people get to pay only $5.40…Fair? NO fair! - but this little voice in my head told me...
As the train pulled safely into Camberwell station without so much as a ripple, however, I said “Should’ve bought a concession. There’s no one checking the tickets.” And right on cue, in an amazing, theatrical, blasted feat of coincidence (I thought these thing only happen in movies?!!), 4 impressively uniformed Connex ticket inspectors (badges, the lot) stepped into MY carriage and started inspecting tickets (as they do). In 2 years, that was the first time I’ve met the TI’s. Oh wow! Remind me never ever EVER to count my chickens before they hatch, count my lucky stars before they fall, whatever people say in this kind of situation, again. Talk about jinxing myself. Close call, that. Whew ~
Yes, yes, time to go to bed…Gotta wake up early tomorrow and do some ironing… @*#^&%! Oh before I forget: bon voyage Mandy!
