the narrator

I am only a little melancholic, a little bit sick of the world, but isn’t everyone like this?

If you feel that I am unfamiliar in a crowd, do not be surprised, that is not the real me

I am still the person you know from before.

There's a song called "This Is The Day" by TheTHe, an absolutely wonderful song, and I think it applies very well to my current situation. Oh yes, who would've guessed - the dreaded Year 12 exams!
It's been almost a week now, no, actually just 4 days, of ploughing through textbooks and notes and trying to cram each and every bit of information into my poor "heat-oppressed brain." I thought that at this stage I would've had at least 3 heart attacks and succumbed to numerous nervous breakdowns already, but I've held up surprisingly well. There's this sense of 'doom' that greets me each morning as I wake up (inexplicably, at 6:30 a.m. no matter how late I set my alarm), but that's about it. I actually am immensely, infinitely, glad that the exams are finally here, because that means they'll end soon. Ah ~ I can smell the sea...
Things are going okay so far. What's done cannot be undone, although I really have no desire to 'undo' anything. Me okeh, you okeh, everybody okeh (aside: spoken with Italian accent). Heheh.
1st day: Chinese, Maths Ppr 1
Chinese was a breeze, I mean hello, I've been speaking/writing/reading Chinese all my life and if I don't get a 7 for it I think I'll go jump off the Golden Gate Bridge or the Empire State Building or the Grand Canyon or wherever people do these things (please, please, don't make me regret that I said that).
Maths kinda drained me, being in the afternoon and all...and was it just me or was it abso-bloody-lutely the worst day ever? The weather was godawful and I had the hardest time getting to sleep the night before - sticky, hot and humid, not a breath of air to be felt and then the rain and thunder started like there was no tomorrow. At one point I think I just sat in bed and started crying because I was so frustrated at not being able to sleep. Or I might have dreamt that. Whatever. Came out from the exam room feeling pretty depressed, thought I'd managed to throw my life away due to lack of sleep.
2nd day: Maths Ppr 2
This paper restored a ray of hope. I had some 'moments of epiphany' in the exam and barring stupid mistakes, everything should go reasonably well.
3rd/4th day: Chem Ppr 1,2,3
Nothing remarkable. Nothing to cry about. Nothing to laugh about. So...
3 down, 2 to go. At this point my head's spinning somehwere in between Gandhi and Truman and Khrushchev, so I think I'll go to bed right now to try and sleep off the confusion.

..signing off..
